Arts Alive, under the direction of Mrs. Wanda Stewart and assisted by Mrs. Kelly Pennell, is open to children in grades 3 – 6. The students meet twice each week, learn about the theater and work on special skills. Each year, the students have three presentations – a fall performance, a religious interpretive piece at Christmas time, and a performance in the spring.
Nativity School is proud to host a Robotics Team for students in grades 4 through 6. As part of First Lego League, students plan and carry out tasks related to the national theme for the year. Students learn to program a robot, prepare a presentation for judging and learn and practice core values of leadership, cooperation and critical thinking. The program is led by Judy Kavanaugh and Suzi Dudiak.
The Nativity School Choir, under the direction of Mr. Terry Maddox with the assistance of Mrs. Nanette Burke, is open to boys and girls in grades 2 through 6. Students work with Mr. Maddox and Mrs. Burke on Thursdays after school. The choir leads the singing at school masses and celebrations as well as at the Sunday Liturgy at Nativity Cathedral several times each year. The Choir has been invited to perform at several community events and holds both a Christmas and Spring Concert.
Mr. Terry conducts Cantor Academy, where chosen students are given special instuctions on the structure of liturgical music as it relates to leading the mass in song. Teams of cantors are formed to lead the choir at school masses and children's masses held at the Cathedral.
